We’re very proud to announce the next major release of CAST Highlight, the Software Intelligence solution for performing rapid application portfolio analysis – just in time for the holidays. This new version introduces cloud containerization insights, new technology coverage, and many other features and improvements.


Cloud Containerization Insights

Dramatically speed up the process of identifying the best app candidates for adopting containers on the cloud! In this new version, CAST Highlight includes a dedicated Containerization dashboard that displays specific insights for containerizing applications.

Kotlin Support for Cloud Maturity

CAST Highlight is continuously adding new patterns and technologies for Cloud readiness assessments. This version includes 20+ new Cloud Maturity patterns for Kotlin, the fast-growing alternative to Java.


Groovy Support for Health Insights

This new version of CAST Highlight introduces 30+ software health patterns for the Groovy language. Apache Groovy is a Java-syntax-compatible object-oriented programming language for the Java platform.


Enhanced Technical Debt Calculation

The Technical Debt calculation in CAST Highlight has been enhanced to enable more flexibility and accuracy. The formula is now based on CAST Highlight code insights only and you can customize the effort estimates for each code insight!

Component Lifecycle Management

CAST Highlight now enables users to improve SCA results accuracy by excluding components from results along with customizable documentation. The Open Source Safety score for the impacted applications is also recalculated.

Enhanced Security for API and CLI User Authentication

Both the CAST Highlight API and Command Line Interface now support token-based (bearer) user authentication based on OAuth2. Portfolio Managers can now manage validity duration and revocation of user tokens.
